Description:

When a maple tree was fallen in our friend’s yard, they kept a few cookie slabs and requested one be made into a lazy susan. It’s featured with an Odies Oil hard wax finish to protect against moisture and other elements. To help resist scratch marks and water rings, we applied a ceramic coating. This coating also enhances UV protection.

How it was made…

First, a chainsaw cut was made, then the slab was set to dry for a few years. Once a dry, the piece was flattened using our slab flattening mill. Then we did a deep epoxy pour to fill the large crack to prevent it from splitting any further. Once cured, the surface was flattened a second time, then sanded smooth. The hard wax oil was then applied, followed by the ceramic coating. Lastly, we installed the heavy duty lazy susan hardware on the underside.
