In 2020 at the age of 18, I discovered my love for woodworking. I’m now 23 years old and fully devoted to building and growing my woodworking business. Throughout high school, I immersed myself in every engineering and shop class available, as those were the only subjects that genuinely sparked my interest and creativity.
After graduating high school, I began pursuing a degree in architectural engineering but soon realized that my passion didn’t truly align with the academic path I had chosen. During the second semester of my freshman year, I made the difficult but necessary decision to withdraw from college and dedicate myself to hands-on work instead.
I began working a couple jobs while also building the foundation of this business. Nearly every dollar I earned was reinvested into my craft. My parents gifted me just about the entirety of their garage’s real estate. I purchased all of my equipment on my own and began teaching myself the art of woodworking. Countless woodworking books and online tutorials have helped me refine my skills and develop my own techniques.
My father has played a significant role in shaping the way I run my business. As the founder of Lionheart Landscaping, he built his company from the ground up and has been an incredible example of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. From him, I’ve learned how to communicate effectively with clients, price my work fairly, and most importantly, believe in myself and the value of my ideas.
The current goal for me is to operate a fully functional online store while continuing to craft unique custom pieces. I love collaborating with clients to design products that reflect their needs and personalities, whether that’s a grand conference table or a simple cutting board engraved with a family name. I believe that creating personalized, handcrafted items allows people to experience and appreciate the natural beauty of craftsmanship in a truly meaningful way.
